The Masco Boys JV Hockey team closed out the season Tuesday with a 2-1 win over Triton in Lawrence. Taking on a team with some size, speed and depth, the JV Boys found themselves in a close contest from the opening face off. The JV Boys scored first capitalizing on a turnover in the Triton end but Triton responded quickly after a “goal mouth” scramble and the game was 1-1 after one period. The JV Boys scored again midway through the second period to take a 2-1 lead. The third period had a lot of end to end action and despite some pretty good opportunities by both teams the score remained the same. Triton pulled its goalkeeper in the final minutes but the JV Boys held on for the win. The team ended the season with both the win and a final record of 11-2-4.
