Passing of Nick DiPietro

With great sadness, we have learned of the sudden and tragic passing of Nick DiPietro on Monday, 1/31/11.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the DiPietro family.

Nick was a great team member! He came to the rink every day and gave all he had.
Nick was concerned that the “team” did well, never about personal glory.
He will be saddly missed by the Masco Hockey family!

A good player but an even better person!

We are so saddened to hear of the loss of Nick. I coached Nick for many years in soccer and he was always someone who could be counted on to play his best – a real team player and always trying his hardest. We also spent so many years together in the ice rinks watching Nick and his hockey “brothers” play, compete, and develop into great hockey players and he will no doubt be missed deeply by all of the boys (now men) who are fortunate to have played with Nick and who developed that special bond and friendship that comes from being on the ice and in the locker rooms together for so long. Such a tragic and unexpected loss is difficult for everyone who knew and loved Nick, but particularly for his parents and family who will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I played hockey with Nick on the New England Moose and also on the freshman team at St. John’s Prep. Nick was a great teammate, and an even better friend. He always showed up to the rink with a smile, and it was clear that he had a genuine love for the game. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Nick’s family members. Rest in peace, man.

    Betty and Bill -
We are all saddened to hear about Nick. He was a fun loving young man who always had a smile on his face. We were lucky enough to spend time with Nick recently. He came over to do a presentation for the knives he was selling. We didn’t need any more knives, and after his demonstration, we were sold – we needed/wanted those knives. He was so excited and proud; you could see that he really believed in what he was doing. We told him he should be proud of himself because he did an excellent job on his presentation.

You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We will keep his smile in our hearts always.

    Love – The Mykulowycz Family

There are no words to describe how deeply sorry we are about Nick’s passing. He was way too young and so full of promise. Nick was Stefan’s friend, and Trevor’s too. They loved him, and so did we. Nick was a great hockey player, and we loved to watch him, #11, skate. He thrilled us with his speed and finesse. Most of all we loved his infectious smile and how he made us laugh. We will miss Nick terribly, but his spirit will live in our hearts forever.

  7. Crosby Family says:

We know no words will lessen the tremendous loss the Dipietro family is suffering. We cannot begin to fathom the loss of a child. We hope someday this tremendous void is filled with some of the wonderful memories we all have of Nick. Nick was a wonderful young man. We will always remember his energy on and off the ice. We pray that you can find the strength and courage to heal from such a tragic loss. May he rest in peace.

    Our deepest sympathies

Our hearts and prayers go out to Nick and his family. Nick was a great young man with a wonderful sense of humor who entertained us each day while carpooling to SJP. He would talk about a hockey injury and would laugh it off as he looked forward to playing that next game. We will keep memories of his engaging personality in our hearts.
